Your photo session isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about capturing a feeling, a moment, a chapter of your life. Whether you're celebrating a milestone, embracing a new beginning, or simply wanting to preserve the beauty of everyday life, I want your experience to be effortless, comfortable, and most of all, meaningful.
I know that being in front of the camera can feel vulnerable, but you don’t have to worry about a thing. My approach is soft and documentary-inspired, allowing space for real emotions to shine. I’ll guide you every step of the way, from choosing the perfect setting to helping you feel at ease in front of the lens. contract: clear, simple, and designed for peace of mind
Your contract is an important part of the booking process—it ensures that everything about your session is clear, organized, and stress-free. It outlines the session details, payment terms (including payment plans), deliverables, copyright, releases, and more. After our consultation, we’ll send your contract via email for you to review and sign. This way, you’ll know exactly what to expect, and we can move forward with confidence, knowing everything is in place to create something beautiful together.
deposit: securing your session
A deposit is required to officially reserve your date and must be submitted within 24 hours of signing your contract. This ensures that your session is locked into my calendar and that I can dedicate that time just for you. The minimum deposit is $100, though many clients choose to pay 50% upfront and the remaining balance before their session date. Clients are welcome to pay all fees upfront if preferred, but that's by no means necessary.
All final payments are due before your session begins. If you have any questions about payment options, just let me know—I’m happy to help!
preparing for your session: bringing your vision to life
From choosing the perfect location to ensuring beautiful lighting, I’ll handle all the technical details so you can focus on being yourself. To help ease any pre-session nerves and spark inspiration, I’ll share a mood board as we plan.
To make sure your session feels personal and true to you, I’ll also send a custom questionnaire to learn more about your vision, preferences, and any special details you’d love to include. Whether it’s a specific vibe, meaningful props, or a must-have shot, this helps us tailor the session to reflect your unique story.
Need extra guidance? I’m happy to hop on a call or meet for coffee to chat through ideas, outfit choices, or anything else that will help you feel more prepared and excited for the session. This is a collaborative process, and I’m here to support you every step of the way!

what to expect on the day of your bookingOn the day of your session, my goal is to make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and fully present in the moment. I’ll be there to guide you through the entire process—from helping with poses to capturing those authentic, candid moments that often turn out to be the most meaningful.
I’ll give gentle direction on posing and work from different angles to get a variety of shots. You might find that some of the best photos happen when the poses start to feel more natural and start to “fall apart.” Those in-betwee

what to expect after your booking
After your session, I’ll carefully select and edit the final images to ensure you receive only the best of the best. I take time to hand-edit each RAW file, ensuring the highest quality results before they’re exported to your private gallery as high-quality JPGs.
Once your edits are ready, I’ll send you a link to your private online gallery, where you can view, download, and share your images. You can expect to receive your gallery within 3-6 weeks of your session date. For 12-hour Diamond sessions during the summer and fall, the turnaround time may be 6-8 weeks due to high demand, so please plan accordingly.
Your gallery will be password-protected for privacy, and you can choose to download individual images or download the entire gallery all at once. If you’d like to share your gallery with friends and family but prefer they don’t download the photos, I can provide you with a download pin.
At this point, you’ll also have the option to purchase prints, canvases, photo books, and other physical products to preserve your memories in a special way. If you have any questions about ordering or would like recommendations, just let me know—I’m here to help!

how far in advance should i book my photo session?
I recommend booking your session at least 1-2 weeks in advance, but for the best availability, 2-4 weeks is ideal. Many clients secure their spots 1-3 months ahead, especially for popular seasons like spring and fall. If you have a specific date in mind, don’t wait—dates can fill up quickly, so booking as early as possible is the best way to guarantee your preferred time.
For weddings, events, and milestone sessions, you can reserve your spot up to 2 years in advance to ensure availability. The more notice you provide, the better chance you have of securing your ideal date!
how do i book a session?
Booking a session is easy! Simply fill out the booking form on my website to check availability and discuss your vision. Once we confirm a date, time & photo package that suits your needs, a deposit is required to secure your booking. If you have a specific location or concept in mind, let me know, and we’ll bring your ideas to life!
what should i wear to my photo session?
Wear something that makes you feel fantastic! Maybe that’s your favourite sweater or a new dress or a pair of pants that fit you just right. Maybe that’s your underwear. Or maybe you feel best wearing nothing at all! Whatever is going to make you feel the most confident and comfortable, that’s what we’re going to do.
When it comes to clothing, I typically recommend garments of neutral colours and earthy tones. Keep in mind that white fabric always looks great on camera and that wearing bright yellows and oranges near your face can cast an unflattering glow in some of your photos.
If you want to wear something that makes you feel special but you don’t have anything in your own closet, let’s talk before you go out and buy something! I can bring garments from my size-inclusive client closet for you to wear.
where will our photos take place? can you come to my home?
Your session can take place wherever you feel most comfortable! I specialize in at-home photography, meeting most of my clients in their homes for a relaxed and intimate setting. This is often the most accessible and meaningful option, especially for families and couples.
I also love outdoor sessions, whether it’s in a local park, by the water, or on conservation land—natural light and beautiful scenery can add a unique touch to your photos.
If you’re interested in a studio session, we’ll work together to choose a local studio that fits your preferred aesthetic and budget.
can i bring my pets to the session?
Absolutely! I love animals, and many of my clients choose to include their pets in their sessions. Whether it’s dogs, cats, bunnies, or even more unconventional pets, they’re always welcome to be part of our photos!
how many photos will i get?
We'll talk about the number of deliverables you need and the style of images you're looking for during our consultation so you know how long to book your session. The numbers listed below are minimums:
- 12-hour diamond sessions: 600+ photos
- 8-hour platinum sessions: 400+ photos
- 4-hour gold sessions: 250+ photos
- 2-hour silver sessions: 100+ photos
- 1-hour bronze sessions: 40+ photos
I always deliver all of the best photos! I won't delete any of your special memories just because it's over the number of photos I've guaranteed.
how long after my session will I get my photos?
After your session, I'll carefully select the final images that you see. RAW files are hand-edited and exported as high-quality jpgs.
Digitally processed files from your portrait session will be available within 3-6 weeks of your session date.
Note: turnaround time for 12-hour Diamond session galleries during summer & fall months is 6-8 weeks.
i want to print my photos! where should i start?
Printing your photos is a beautiful way to preserve your memories and enjoy them beyond the screen! The easiest and most convenient way is to order prints directly through your online gallery—this ensures professional-quality prints that match the color and detail of your final images.
If you have a preferred print shop, you’re welcome to print your photos yourself! I recommend choosing a high-quality lab to ensure your images look their best. Need help deciding? Visit my blog!
