session length & booking details
Strawberry bucket bath sessions are designed to be relaxed, playful, and filled with natural moments, which is why they require a minimum 1-hour booking. This gives your baby plenty of time to get comfortable, explore the water, and fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

who is this session for?
For these fruit bath sessions, the suggested age range is 9-24 months. This isn't a firm rule, but typically who they work best for. These can definitely work for older toddlers and sometimes even younger babies.
Babies must be able to sit unassisted and have started on solid foods. It’s okay if this is their first time trying fruit—many babies love the sensory experience of touching and tasting! However, fruit baths aren’t suited for babies too young to safely explore or taste the fruit. In that case, we'd omit the fruit and focus on your regular bath routine instead.
If your baby isn’t sitting up yet, we can explore alternative options like:
✔ An infant tub, smaller basin or sink lined with supportive cloths
✔ A parent-assisted tub session
✔ A fun, water-based shoot where you’re in the bathtub, pool, or lake with your baby!
These sessions make a wonderful choice for first birthday photo shoots. These playful and sensory-filled sessions are a fun way to capture your baby’s personality as they explore the water and fruit. The soothing bath experience offers a relaxed setting where your little one can splash, giggle, and create memories while staying cool. It’s a unique and joyful way to celebrate your baby’s first year, with photos that capture their pure joy and the special bond you share.

keeping your baby safe & comfortable
Your baby’s safety and comfort are my top priorities during these sessions. While bucket bath photos are all about fun, play, and discovery, they also involve water and slippery surfaces, so we take a few key precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Parent Supervision is Required
Because your baby will be in the tub, at least one parent or caregiver must be within arm’s reach at all times. I’ll guide you on positioning so you can stay close while remaining just outside the frame, ensuring both safety and beautiful, natural photos.
Non-Slip Support & Comfort Measures
To provide extra traction and modesty, I place a non-slip white sheet or towel at the base of the tub. This helps prevent slipping and makes sure your baby stays secure while they splash and explore.

choosing the perfect fruit
While strawberries are a classic choice (they’re big, bright, and easy to hold), we can also use:
🍉 Watermelon – vibrant and juicy, perfect for summer
🍏 Apples & apple slices – crisp and colorful
🫐 Raspberries & blueberries – a mix of tiny, fun textures
🍋 Other creative options – let’s chat about what works best for your baby!
If you’d like, I can pick up the fruit for you, or you can bring your own. The most important thing is choosing baby-safe, fresh, and fun fruit for your little one to explore!

where do these sessions take place?
Most of these sessions happen outdoors in your backyard, a local park, or another outdoor space. Your own backyard is ideal because we'll have more privacy and we can let the water warm up a little bit.
If you prefer an indoor session, we can always use your sink or bathtub. Sink baths are especially great during the fall and winter! Or we can discuss local studio options that work for your desired aesthetic and budget.
what should my baby wear?
Whatever you're most comfortable with! Lots of parents love these sessions because it's a more comfortable, natural way to get naked and skin-to-skin photos with their baby. But if you'd like our photos to be a bit more modest, then diapers, swim diapers or cloth diapers are great options! The fruit floating at the top and cloth at the base of the tub will provide an extra level of modesty, too.
can I bring my own tub?
Yes! I have a beautiful tub available for these sessions, but if you have one you love and want to include, we can absolutely use it. We can also use your kitchen sink or bathtub instead!

do i buy the fruit or do you provide it?
You have both options! If it’s easier for you, I can pick up the fruit for you for a small fee of $10-$25, depending on the type and amount of fruit needed. Just let me know your preference, and I’ll handle the rest.
If you’d rather bring your own, that works too! This option is great if you already have fruit on hand or if you have a favorite market or farm that you get your produce from. Either way, we’ll make sure your little one has a colorful, fun, and baby-safe selection to splash and play with!

what if the weather isn’t great on the day of our session?
No worries—we’ll make beautiful photos no matter what! If the weather isn’t ideal and we simply can't do it outside, we have plenty of options. We can move the session indoors, using a bathtub, sink, or even setting up the tub inside your home for a cozy at-home session.
If you’re set on having your session outdoors with gorgeous sunlight, I recommend choosing a backup date in advance. Backup dates can be reserved for free once your deposit is paid and booking is confirmed, giving you peace of mind if we need to adjust due to weather.
what if my baby cries?
That's totally okay! Not every moment has to be perfectly posed and smiling—some of the most honest, emotional, and memorable images come from those real moments of parenting. If your baby gets fussy, I’ll keep capturing the session, whether it’s joyful splashes, screaming chaos, or a quiet moment of comfort in your arms.
By working together, we’ll create a safe, fun, and stress-free experience that captures all the little details you never want to forget!

can parents be in the photos too?
Of course! In fact, I highly encourage it. While the focus of these sessions is on your little one’s joy and curiosity, there’s something incredibly special about capturing the connection between you and your baby in these moments. Whether it’s a laugh shared over splashing water, a gentle hand steadying the tub, or a quiet moment of comfort, these images tell a deeper story of parenthood.
At least one parent or caregiver should be within arm’s reach for the entire session to ensure your baby’s safety. Even if you’re not planning to be in the spotlight, I’ll naturally incorporate you into the photos—whether it’s your hands offering fruit, your arms catching a splash, or a sweet cuddle after the bath.
These candid moments become some of the most treasured images, capturing not just how your baby looked at this stage, but how deeply they were loved. If you'd like more posed shots with your little one, just let me know—we’ll make sure to document these memories in a way that feels natural and meaningful to you!
can siblings join in on the session?
Absolutely! Including siblings in your baby’s strawberry bucket bath session can make for some of the sweetest, most heartwarming moments. Whether they’re helping add fruit to the tub, splashing alongside their little brother or sister, or simply giggling nearby, these interactions create beautiful, candid memories that reflect your family’s love and connection.
That said, we’ll also make sure to set aside some time to focus just on your baby. These sessions are designed to capture their unique expressions, curiosity, and joy, so we want to ensure they get their moment to shine, too! I’ll guide the flow of the session so we get a great mix of solo portraits and sibling moments, creating a balanced gallery with plenty of variety.
If you’re bringing older siblings, I recommend having a towel or dry clothes nearby, as they’ll likely want to get involved in the splashing! If you have multiple little ones and want to discuss the best way to structure your session, just let me know—I’d love to make this experience fun and memorable for everyone!

make the most of your session
For even more variety, you can add a fruit bath to a longer at-home session (highly recommended!). A 2, 4 or 8-hour session allows us to document more of your family’s daily life—playtime, snack breaks, quiet cuddles, and all the little in-between moments that make up your everyday routine. Baths typically fit into these sessions right after a messy snack so that they can get all cleaned up for the rest of the photo session. These longer sessions are perfect for families who want a storytelling approach to their portraits.

ready to create and capture the sweetest memories?
There’s something magical about the simple joys of childhood—messy hands, happy giggles, and little feet kicking in the water. A strawberry bucket bath session is a fun and unique way to document this fleeting stage of life in a way that feels real, joyful, and timeless.
If you’re ready to book a session or have any questions, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s create a session that’s fun for your little one and filled with beautiful moments you’ll treasure forever.
