mini photo session details: quick, fun, and full of beautiful moments

A 30-minute mini session is the perfect way to capture special moments without the time commitment of a full photoshoot. Whether you're updating family portraits, celebrating a milestone, or simply preserving everyday joy, these sessions are designed to be stress-free, fun, and full of connection.

Each session includes 25 minutes of shooting time at a beautiful, accessible outdoor location in Hamilton. Mini sessions are ideal for families, couples, or small groups of up to 5 people. You’ll receive 10+ professionally edited photos, giving you a stunning collection of images to cherish and share.

At just $250 per session, this is an easy and affordable way to invest in high-quality photography while making memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it's for holiday cards, a gift, or just because—mini sessions are a great way to capture genuine moments with the people you love.

who are mini sessions for?

  1. People who only need a couple of photos
  2. Folks who aren't able to invest in a 1+ hour photo session
  3. People on a tight schedule
  4. Folks that can make a tight 30-minute time slot
  5. Anyone that's on a tight budget

who are mini photo sessions not for?

1. Groups of 6 or more

Mini sessions are a great way to get quality photos of smaller groups or individuals. However, if you are looking for photos of larger groups, like 6 or more people, then mini-sessions may not be the ideal choice. Mini sessions are designed to be short and sweet, and they may not be enough time to get good photos of everyone in your group. Therefore, if you have a larger group, it is recommended that you book a 1+ hour session in order to get the most out of your photo session.

2. Boudoir & nudity — unless we're at a professional photo studio

Our photo studio often focuses on celebrating the bodies we live in, but outdoor mini-sessions are not suitable for boudoir sessions or photoshoots with nudity. Mini-session locations are usually accessible public places and do not provide the necessary privacy for boudoir. If you would like to do an outdoor boudoir shoot, we often recommend a short hike to one of our quiet outdoor locations. It's best to book a custom 1+ hour session if your photos require more privacy and time.

Note: sometimes we offer studio mini sessions at professional photo studios and these bookings are perfect for boudoir photos!

3. People with a list of photos they want to see in their gallery

Mini sessions are ideal for people who want to remember the overall mood and atmosphere of this time in their lives. However, if you have a list of photos that you want to see in your gallery, then mini-sessions may not be the right choice for you. This is because mini-sessions are limited in time and creative headspace, meaning that it is difficult to capture all of the photos on your list within the 25-minute timeframe. If you have a list of specific moments you want documented or references for photos that you want to create, you'll want to book a longer session with your photographer so that there's time to explore all of your ideas.

4. Folks that are very nervous and anxious around cameras

Most people take time to warm up to the camera when being photographed. It takes time to feel natural! But if you are very uncomfortable in front of the camera or feel nervous about your photo session, your best photos will probably come after the 25-minute mark. Your confidence builds throughout your session so, with longer sessions, there's more time to get comfortable. Mini sessions are short and move quickly. It can be difficult to feel relaxed and enjoy the experience of a photo session if you already feel overwhelmed. Your photoshoot will end right when you're getting the hang of it.

5. Proposals

We can definitely do your engagement photos during a mini-session, but if you’re planning on proposing to your partner during your photo session then you’ll want to book more time with your photographer. Because proposals should feel special and a little bit spontaneous. They're full of big emotions and we don't want to limit your love story to a 25-minute time slot with minimal flexibility.
